WHAT IS THE GRADUATE STUDENT LEADERSHIP ACADEMY?
The Office of Graduate Student Life and Wellness is proud to present its’ inaugural Graduate Student Leadership Academy! The Academy is a cohort style, intensive, team based, 4 session experience that aims to educate and empower graduate students to be-come effective and socially responsive leaders.
The Academy is built on the following 5 principles:
Self-Awareness. The ability to know and understand ones biases, strengths, challenges, etc. and being able to apply this knowledge to enhance ones leadership abilities.
Excellence. The ability to perform and complete tasks to the highest degree of quality and at an individual or teams maximum potential.
Integrity. The ability to distinguish between right and wrong and to do what is right in the face of challenge...and when nobody is watching.
Inclusion. The ability to know and understand the different dynamics that make up a person's psyche.
Service & Citizenship. The ability to put the needs of others and the community ahead of oneself.
HOW WILL LEADERSHIP ACADEMY HELP ME?
Employers are looking to hire people with soft skills and tangible experiences. The academy will help you to understand who you are as a leader, show you different leadership perspectives, and give you exposure to leadership in practice. This academy will feature:

Expert panels.
Team building activities and projects.
